Look Good. Play Better. Welcome to Kraniq.

Every social footballer knows the moment. You've finally rounded up eleven mates who can commit to a Tuesday night league, you've settled on a team name that's 80% inside joke, and then someone asks the question that quietly ruins everything: "So... what are we actually going to wear?"

Cue the group-chat chaos. Someone suggests matching plain tees from a discount shop. Someone else found "real" club jerseys online that cost more than a month at the gym. A third person knows a guy overseas who can do it cheap — but nobody's sure if the kits will turn up this season or next. Three weeks later you're still playing in a mismatched rainbow of whatever was clean that morning.

We know that moment because we lived it for years. And it's exactly why Kraniq exists.

Who's behind this?

We're two brothers from New Zealand who've been kicking a ball around together since before we could spell "offside." Football has followed us everywhere — backyard battles, weekend leagues, and pickup games across Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, and home in NZ. Everywhere we went, we brought our boots and, let's be honest, a fair amount of banter.

Somewhere along the way we fell hard for the social side of the game. Not the professional, sponsor-plastered version — the rec-league version. The one that's really about your mates, the post-match debrief, and the long-running argument over who was actually in goal for that third one. The football is the excuse. The team is the point.

But one problem never went away: kitting out a social team was a pain. Official jerseys were absurdly expensive. Budget options looked like gym-class leftovers. And ordering straight from overseas was a gamble on both quality and delivery. So we decided to fix it.

What Kraniq is about

Kraniq makes fully customisable football kits for teams that take their banter as seriously as their football. Professional quality, social-player prices. That's the whole idea.

Whether you want to upload your own logo, tweak colours and patterns until they're just right, or hand us a napkin sketch and let our Design Lab do the heavy lifting, the goal is the same: make designing a kit your team is genuinely proud of easy, fast, and actually fun. Because the only thing better than scoring is looking good while you do it.

What you'll find on this blog

This is our very first post, so consider it the kickoff. Going forward, this is where we'll share the stuff we wish someone had told us back when we were squinting at dodgy overseas order forms. Expect things like:

  • Kit design tips — colour combos that actually work, how to make numbers readable from the sideline, and the mistakes to dodge before you hit order.
  • Team culture — naming your squad, building a vibe, and the unwritten rules of social football.
  • Behind the scenes — how a kit goes from idea to your doorstep, plus the occasional look at designs other teams have dreamed up.
  • Real talk on gear — fabric, fit, sizing, and what's actually worth caring about (and what isn't).

No fluff, no jargon — just useful stuff from two people who love this game.

Ready to ditch the mismatched tees?

If your team is still rocking the rainbow-of-whatever look, take this as your sign. Have a browse through our Quick Ship Kits if you need something sharp in a hurry, jump into the Customisation tool to build your own from scratch, or bring your wildest idea to the Design Lab and we'll help make it real.

Welcome to Kraniq. Now let's get your team looking the part.
